Violent Crimes Division detectives are working to identify two young gunmen who early Saturday morning were burglarizing automobiles on Shoemaker Court in South Nashville when they both fired on a 55-year-old man who had apparently gone onto his front porch to confront them, critically wounding him.
Officers responded at 4:15 a.m. and found the victim laying in the doorway to his home. He had been struck in his neck/shoulder area. He was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he is in critical but stable condition. The suspects appeared to shoot the victim without provocation and had their firearms in their hands while checking vehicles.
Home surveillance video shows that that the two suspects were in a black 4-door sedan pulling on automobile door handles.
