Update: The driver killed in this morning's crash on Highway 100 has been identified as Orin Odom, 78, of Nashville.
The driver of a Nissan Versa has died following this morning's single-vehicle crash on Highway 100. The preliminary investigation shows the 78-year-old man was traveling northeast when he likely suffered from a medical event based on evidence at the scene and veered off the roadway near Old Hickory Boulevard before crashing head-on into a tree.
He died at the scene. Efforts are underway to notify his family.
