Downtown Nashville will be bustling Friday evening with a number of special events that should be enough to persuade even the most seasoned Nashvillian to arrive extra early to ensure parking and getting to the venue on time.
Some 50,000 concert goers are expected at Nissan Stadium for night two of the Morgan Wallen concert that begins at 6 p.m. The Woodland Street Bridge will close to vehicle traffic around 5 p.m. and will then be available to only pedestrians and WeGo buses. Parking on the Nissan Stadium campus is by presold permit only. Those without a parking pass are encouraged to make their parking plan now, or take a rideshare service.
The Nashville Predators return home at 6 p.m. Friday night for game six of their Stanley Cup playoff series against Vancouver. Preds fans should expect very heavy traffic around Bridgestone Arena by late afternoon and are also advised to arrive downtown extra early to find parking.
Other events in the downtown area Friday evening include the 8 p.m. Portugal. The Man concert at the Ryman Auditorium, and the Nashville Sounds 6:35 p.m. game vs. Norfolk at First Horizon Park.
MNPD officers will be visible in the areas of all four venues Friday night, as well as downtown. The police department strongly urges drivers to park smart by securing all valuables, including firearms, or just leave them at home. Persons seeing anything suspicious or concerning are urged to say something to a nearby police officer, and to always be aware of their surroundings.
