A 13-year-old Hunters Lane High School student has been arrested for threatening another student at gunpoint. The 9th grader told school resource officers she wanted to scare the student because she was upset with him.
The victim told school staff the student pointed a .45 caliber handgun at him in the cafeteria. Hunters Lane administrative staff searched the 13-year-old and found the loaded weapon in her purse with seven bullets, including one round in the chamber.
The student advised the handgun belonged to her mother. She is charged in juvenile court with aggravated assault and carrying a gun on school property.
