The investigation into a missing person case has revealed a domestic-related murder.
Detectives this morning charged Joseph Glynn, 70, with criminal homicide, abuse of a corpse, and evidence tampering in connection with the death of his wife, Jackie Glynn, 76, whose body was unearthed late Friday at their property in Dekalb County. Jackie Glynn’s vehicle was also recovered at a different location in Dekalb County.
The investigation, including admissions from Joseph Glynn late Friday night, shows that he struck her on the head with a hammer inside their Abbott Martin Road home on the evening of January 1 and then drove the body to Dekalb County the following day where he buried it.
During the week, Joseph Glynn told his wife’s children that she had decided to leave home because she was terminally ill. Her medical provider told them that wasn’t true. Joseph Glynn’s other statements to the family were inconsistent. The children have been working with West Precinct and Homicide detectives over the past few days to determine what really happened.
Joseph Glynn is jailed this morning in lieu of $1,030,000 bond.
