Cold Case-Homicide detectives this afternoon arrested Jatecia Lake, 32, for Sunday’s 2 a.m. murder of Patrick Jamal Washington inside his Jeep Commander in a parking lot at 3048 Dickerson Pike near the Ewing Drive intersection.
Washington’s father reported his son missing on Monday afternoon, a few hours after the Jeep was found abandoned on the shoulder of I-65 south in the Madison area. Washington’s body was found Tuesday in a ditch off I-65 in Warren County, Kentucky.
The investigation, being led by Detective Andrew Davis, shows that Lake and Washington were acquaintances and were together in the Jeep early Sunday. Lake is alleged to have killed Washington in the parking lot before the Jeep was driven to Kentucky.
Anyone who may have seen the Jeep in the parking lot early Sunday is asked to contact the Homicide Unit at 615-862-7720.
