Update: Carol Green, 25, of S. 7th Street, has been identified as a 2nd suspect in this case and is charged with two counts of aggravated kidnapping and two counts of aggravated robbery. She was booked Friday night and is being held in lieu of $200,000 bond.
Midtown Hills Precinct detectives this afternoon charged Jeremiah Miller, 27, with two counts of aggravated kidnapping and two counts of aggravated robbery for holding two Virginia men against their will and robbing them Thursday night after the victims voluntarily went with Miller and 3 others to engage in a drug deal.
The investigation shows that the victims, both 21, met Miller and the others near a bar at 3rd Avenue and Broadway downtown and agreed to go with them for a drug deal. The victims were driven in a black Ford Fusion with a temp tag to a Wells Fargo ATM at 1712 West End Avenue. It was there that the victims said they were forcibly held at gunpoint while the people with them demanded their bank cards and PIN numbers. One victim complied. The other attempted to fight with the suspects and get away. He was assaulted and left in the parking lot while the other victim was driven away in the Fusion. He was ultimately dropped off on the side of the interstate and managed to make it back to his hotel.
East Precinct officers located the Fusion this afternoon on S. 7th Street. Miller was located in a nearby apartment and had an outstanding warrant for domestic assault. He matched the description of one of the suspects from Thursday night, was taken to the Midtown Hills Precinct for questioning, and admitted to being the driver of the Fusion.
Miller is being held in the Downtown Detention Center in lieu of $255,000 bond.
The investigation is continuing.
