Tanner Patterson, 31, is charged with two counts each of aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated robbery for allegedly sexually assaulting two women in separate attacks at his Brentridge Drive apartment.
Patterson communicated with both women on social networking apps and arranged to meet them at his apartment. In the first case on January 14, he is accused of striking the victim several times with a handgun after she attempted to flee. He allegedly sexually assaulted her and took cash from her purse before she was able to leave the apartment.
In the second case, which occurred Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, the victim reported that she attempted to run out of the apartment after Patterson armed himself with a handgun. He struck her with it before allegedly sexually assaulting her and taking money from her purse. Patterson then ordered the victim a rideshare. She told the driver to speed away and then pull over at a convenience store where police were called.
Special Victims Division detectives had developed Patterson as a suspect in the continuing investigation of the January 14 case. He accessed both women’s phones, deleting information from one of the phones in an attempt to conceal his contact with the victim. He also threatened to harm both women if they called police.
Patterson is currently on supervised federal release for bank robbery.
