Homicide Unit and Specialized Investigations Division detectives are pursuing strong leads in today’s 2:45 a.m. gunfire in South Nashville that killed the driver of a gray Honda Accord that had just left a hookah bar at 2521 Nolensville Pike. The Honda immediately crashed into a building at 2604 Nolensville Pike. Ahmed Amran, 22, was found deceased behind the wheel. Two of three passengers in the Honda, both 23-year-old men, were wounded, one in the back who was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center from the scene, and one in the leg who showed up at Southern Hills Medical Center before being transferred to Vanderbilt. They are both being treated.
The investigation to this point shows that a person, who is also believed to have been in the hookah bar, retrieved a gun from a vehicle in the parking lot and then shot specifically at the Honda as it left.
