The motorcyclist killed in Sunday’s 2:30 a.m. crash on I-24 West between the Old Hickory Boulevard and Joelton exits has been tentatively identified as a 24-year-old Fort Campbell man. The Medical Examiner will work to positively identify him and notify his next of kin.
According to witnesses/motorists, the motorcyclist passed them at an estimated speed of more than 100 mph. A short time later, they saw that the motorcyclist had crashed. It appears that the rider lost control of the motorcycle after he entered a curve in the roadway. He died at the scene.
He was wearing his helmet at the time of the crash. There were no signs of impairment at the scene.
