An estimated 45,000 football fans will be heading to Nissan Stadium Saturday for the 26th Annual TransPerfect Music City Bowl, this year featuring Auburn and Maryland. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. Nissan Stadium parking lots will open at 9 a.m. to those with parking passes. Information on purchasing parking passes can be found at the Music City Bowl website.
The MNPD will be utilizing the same traffic plan as that used for Titans games. The Woodland Street Bridge will close at 10:30 a.m. Saturday and will be available to only pedestrians and shuttle buses. Fans driving into Nashville on game day are urged to arrive early, have a parking plan, and follow the guidance provided on interstate message boards.
Bag Restrictions
Those attending this game are reminded that the National Football League’s restrictions on what can be brought into stadiums are strictly enforced for all events at Nissan Stadium, including college games. No backpacks, duffle bags, etc., are permitted inside the stadium. For ladies, anything larger than a clutch-style purse must be a clear plastic bag, medical items excluded.
Battle of the Bands
The marching bands from Auburn and Maryland will take part in a Battle of the Bands event Friday beginning at 6 p.m. on Broadway between 1st and 2nd Avenues. Those streets will close by 5 p.m. Friday.
If You See Something, Say Something
Dozens of MNPD officers will be downtown and visible on Friday and around Nissan Stadium on Saturday. Please be vigilant. If you see something suspicious or concerning, please say something to a nearby police officer or security guard.
