Quick response and investigation by South Precinct Patrol officers resulted in the arrests of robbery suspects Julius Schields, 27, and Shamarion Schields, 19, a short time after a man was held up at gunpoint late Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of 242 Twin Oaks Drive.
Officers viewed home surveillance footage showing the robbery. The suspects fled in a white Hyundai Elantra which was spotted traveling on Antioch Pike. When the driver of the Elantra turned into a convenience store/gas station in the 1200 block of Antioch Pike, both men were taken into custody. The victim’s wallet was found in the passenger seat. A handgun with a tan magazine and mounted light was located under the driver’s seat. Both suspects were positively identified, Shamarion as the driver and Julius as the gunman.
Julius Schields registered as an ex-con for robbery in 2022. He was convicted of aggravated robbery in 2017 in connection to armed holdups. He is charged with aggravated robbery, felon in possession of a handgun, and violating his parole. At the time of his arrest, Shamarion Schields was free on $36,000 bond for aggravated assault and unlawful handgun possession. He is charged with aggravated robbery. Both men are being held in lieu of $75,000 bond.
