The keen eyes of a THP helicopter crew assisting with the MNPD’s precision policing robbery initiative led to the arrests of two men and a woman early Tuesday morning for burglarizing the McDonald’s at 1173 Murfreesboro Pike. The helicopter crew saw a black Hyundai Elantra with Texas tags flee the restaurant just before 3 a.m. and followed it to a Brentwood gas station where a THP ground unit stopped it. Inside the car was more than $14,000 cash contained within two grocery bags. All three denied ownership of the money.
The helicopter crew saw one of the three suspects discard a bag, which was subsequently found to contain burglary tools, in a dumpster at the gas station.
South Precinct detectives responded to the McDonald’s where surveillance footage showed at least two people matching the suspects’ descriptions crawling on the floor of the restaurant.
Rodney Ray Davis, 26, and Deandre Butler, 24, both from Houston, Texas, and Shaqueria Shaquall Marie Debose, 25, of Spring, Texas, are charged with burglary and possession of burglary tools. Davis and Dubose are being held in lieu of $52,500 bond each. Butler has an outstanding warrant in Texas and is also charged with being a fugitive. He is being held in lieu of $302,500 bond with extradition to Houston pending.
All three individuals are also under investigation by North Precinct detectives for their potential involvement in other burglaries.
