A registered sex offender is back in jail today after multiple tips from Google alerted MNPD Special Victims Division detectives to two Gmail accounts that contained hundreds of sexually explicit images of children. The investigation revealed both of the accounts also contained personal documents belonging to Joshua Lesler, 43.
Lesler was taken into custody without incident today during his sex offender registry annual check-in. He admitted to detectives that he sought and downloaded hundreds of sexually explicit files of children from the dark web.
He is charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and is currently jailed on $100,000 bond.
Additional charges are anticipated.
