Specialized Investigations Division detectives are continuing to investigate Wednesday night’s shooting on Whispering Hills Drive that injured a 26-year-old convicted felon with outstanding aggravated robbery warrants.
Samuel Giddens was driven to Southern Hills Hospital in a Hyundai Elantra after being shot once in the leg. When officers arrived at the hospital, Giddens provided a fake name and date of birth, but reported being shot by two unknown men.
The preliminary investigation indicates two armed suspects (seen in attached images) fired several shots, not only striking Giddens, but also an apartment window and vehicle in the parking lot of the complex.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
In July, Giddens was identified as the suspect allegedly responsible for being one of three suspects that pistol whipped a man in his Antioch home before stealing his Infiniti Q60. The victim, who recognized Giddens as an acquaintance, is now inhibited from speaking properly or opening his mouth as a result of his injuries.
The Infiniti was later recovered by Robbery Operations detectives.
Giddens was booked on his outstanding warrants, as well as charged with criminal impersonation after he was released from the hospital overnight. He remains jailed on $155,000 bond.
It was discovered during the investigation, that the passenger of the Elantra that drove Giddens to Southern Hills, Kendric Williams, 28, also a convicted felon, hid two firearms underneath the front tire after the female driver parked in the back of the hospital. He was arrested on two counts of being a felon in possession of weapons.
Williams has since been released on $30,000 bond.
