Update: Markeeis James surrendered on his outstanding aggravated assault and riot warrants at the Downtown Detention Center. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $11,000.
Two known street racers are wanted on outstanding warrants related to dangerous driving activity earlier this year.
Caleb Potter, 21, of Mt. Juliet, is being sought on an outstanding riot warrant from a meetup on May 28 where an officer’s car was blocked by someone wearing a clown mask (photo attached). His tattoos aided in the identification of Potter as the man participating in the illegal street takeover.
Markeeis James, 26, of Murfreesboro, has a riot and an aggravated assault warrant after an April 22 meetup where he was identified as the driver performing stunts at a high rate of speed when a juvenile bystander was struck and injured.
The MNPD Traffic Division is committed to continuing its investigations into street racer groups that are causing damage and harm through their dangerous driving.
Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
