Two men were arrested last night after a shooting incident that occurred at the Sutherland building at 1900 South Drive on the Vanderbilt campus in a which a 19-year-old man received a non-critical gunshot wound to his arm.
The incident occurred after an argument between members of a construction crew that were working in the building. Midtown Hills Precinct officers assisted Vanderbilt police officers with clearing the building in an attempt to apprehend the two outstanding suspects, Luis Enrique Ramirez Sandoval, 38, and Jose Humberto, 27. Both men were apprehended by Vanderbilt officers at the nearby Mapco on 21st Avenue South.
A firearm was located on Sandovol. He is charged with aggravated assault. Humberto is charged with facilitation of aggravated assault for retrieving the gun for Sandovol prior to the shooting.
