Vehicle Crimes detectives last night arrested two men with a stolen gun and 3.5 pounds of marijuana inside their vehicle. Stephen Boyd, 26, was stopped for a vehicle violation on 39th Avenue North when marijuana was seen in plain view.
Boyd, who was convicted of aggravated assault in 2022, had a stolen handgun in the driver’s side floorboard. The gun was reported stolen out of Sumner County.
During a search of the car, 3.5 pounds of marijuana, two full 16-ounce bottles of promethazine cough syrup, digital scales, cash and small plastic baggies were recovered.
Boyd was charged with theft of a firearm, being a felon in possession of a weapon, felony weapon possession, not having a driver’s license, two counts of drug possession and drug paraphernalia. He is currently being held in lieu of $53,000 bond.
Boyd’s passenger, Jaden Wright, 18, was also charged with two counts of drug possession and drug paraphernalia. He is currently being held in lieu of $29,000 bond.
