Diamond Tankard, 21, is charged with attempted first-degree murder after she is alleged to have intentionally struck a woman with her vehicle on November 29 on 10th Avenue North near Minerva Avenue bar, 1002 Buchanan Street.
The 30-year-old victim and her sister left the bar around 12:30 a.m. and went to their vehicle parked on 10th Avenue North where Tankard came to the driver’s side window of their car and asked the victim’s sister, who was in the driver’s seat, if she knew a male. After the victim’s sister told Tankard, no, she did not know him, they got into a subsequent verbal argument which turned physical. The victim got out of the car and attempted to break up the fight. Tankard then got into her Range Rover, drove to the end of the street, and turned around accelerating at a high rate of speed before striking the victim who sustained critical injuries.
At the time of the incident, Tankard was wearing an ankle monitor, for an out of county domestic assault-related arrest, that placed her at the scene. Additionally, she is charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving injury and failing to render aid. She is being held in lieu of $1,002,000 bond.
