Dericka Scivally, 30, is charged with attempted murder after she boarded a WeGo bus on Gallatin Pike around noon today and stabbed the 54-year-old driver in the hand after an argument turned physical.
The bus was at the Gallatin Pike at Broadmoor Drive stop when Scivally got on and was reportedly talking loudly. After the driver asked her to sit down and be quiet, Scivally began to yell and pulled out a kitchen knife, threatening to kill the victim. The driver and suspect fought over possession of the knife. The victim sustained several defensive wounds/cuts to both of her hands.
Scivally fled on foot and was taken into custody on Gallatin Pike at the Briley Parkway overpass. There were approximately 12 other passengers onboard the bus at the time of the stabbing.
