Metro Public Works is announcing a new application, called the Nashville Waste and Recycling App, designed to provide residents with enhanced waste and recycling information. The app is designed to streamline curbside collection information and enable Nashvillians to quickly find information on how to recycle right and dispose of other waste materials.
The new app is available on the Public Works’ website and can also be downloaded on iOS and Android mobile devices. Features include:
- A personalized trash and recycling customer collection calendar for metro curbside customers
- Trash and recycling pick-up day reminders
- A search tool that allows you to determine what materials may and may not be recycled.
The search tool, called the “Waste Wizard”, includes detailed information on how to dispose of over 200 listed items including compostable and hazardous materials, bulky waste, and recycling materials for both residential curbside and drop-off locations.
“We think this is going to serve as a great tool for Nashville residents wanting easy, simple information about Metro’s waste and recycling program,” said Public Works Assistant Director Sharon Smith. “As Nashville continues to grow, we know how important trash and recycling updates and policies are to both established residents and newcomers.”
The new Nashville Waste & Recycling app is sponsored by the “Nobody Trashes Tennessee” campaign with grant funding from the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
