Did you know you have the power to make the streets and roads in your neighborhood safer, more accessible, and more livable? Tools like hubNashville, NDOT programs, and NDOT boards and commissions ensure your neighborhood has tools to make a difference.
Community Building with NDOT
NDOT’s programs designed to help you organize your community and make a positive impact. Take advantage of opportunities to work with your neighbors to make your community cleaner, safer, and more livable like a neighborhood clean-up, tactical urbanism project, or open street.
Get Involved in the Decision-Making Process
Attending board, commission, and committee meetings provide regular opportunities to share neighborhood concerns with NDOT’s decision-making and advisory bodies.
NDOT oversees five boards, commissions, and committees:
- The Beautification and Environment Commission works to make Nashville clean, safe, and attractive.
- The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission increases the safety and use of bicycle, micro mobility devices, and pedestrian travel as significant and beneficial modes of transportation and recreation.
- The Traffic and Parking Commission make the roads, streets and other public ways safe for pedestrians, motorists and others.
- The Transportation Licensing Commission has jurisdiction of the licensing and regulation of all vehicles for hire, including, but not limited to, taxicabs, wreckers, sedans, limousines, horse drawn carriages, and persons or businesses engaged in the practice of "booting" vehicles.
- The Vision Zero Advisory Committee meets monthly to collaborate with the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT) on various Vision Zero efforts.
