The Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT) is launching a pilot traffic safety program for collector streets with higher speeds and volumes where NDOT engineers have identified critical safety needs. These streets, which don’t meet criteria for the Neighborhood Street Traffic Calming Program, will be considered for safety improvements ranging from speed feedback signs, to speed limit studies, to restriping and more.
Funding for this pilot program will come from NDOT’s Vision Zero/Traffic Calming allocation and will cover the cost of 30 projects. Work will begin on the pilot streets in the coming weeks.
