Project Background
In partnership with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) and CSX, the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT) is moving forward on a project that will build a bridge in the Sadler Avenue Neighborhood to provide a grade separated crossing of the existing CSX railroad. Access to 43 homes in this neighborhood is limited to a single at-grade railroad crossing that is frequently blocked by trains that are being assembled in Radnor Rail Yards, located less than a mile to the south.
The project is being funded by monies from the Metro Davidson County Capital Spending Plan, CSX, and the Federal Highway Administration. TDOT will have the role of managing the project through the design and construction. Construction is currently estimated for Spring/Summer of 2025.
