Youth Services detectives investigating Thursday alleged attempted kidnapping of a 15-year-old female saw a van this morning that matched the description of the suspect minivan at the intersection of Penny Brink Drive and Bart Drive.
A male passenger exited the vehicle at approximately the same time as yesterday morning and began walking the same path. The van then pulled off and left the area and was stopped by a patrol officer.
During interviews, the driver of the van, a female, and two male passengers explained that one of the males is frequently dropped off by them at this location where he walks from the intersection down Penny Brink Drive to pick up his truck for work. They all three said they were in the vehicle yesterday and as soon as the passenger exited the minivan, the teen at the bus stop started running away and screaming. The driver continued on, unsure as to why the girl fled.
The teen reported that she was alone at the bus stop in the dark, which was not typical for her, and expressed that she was nervous when the man got out of the minivan.
