Homicide Unit detectives are investigating the death of a man tentatively identified as a 65-year-old Nashvillian who was found yesterday inside a room at the Red Roof motel on Claridge Drive. He had reportedly been residing there for several months. The Medical Examiner’s Office will work to confirm his identity.
Officers responded to the motel after an employee entered the room and found the deceased man lying on his back in the bathtub. He was fully clothed. There was clothing over his face that was removed by first responders who then saw dried blood on his face. The drywall in the area had been broken and pieces were inside the tub.
Foul play is suspected. The investigation is continuing.
