Homicide detectives are investigating a potential drug motive in Tuesday night’s fatal shooting of a man inside a vehicle at 300 Hickory Apartments on Hickory Hollow Place.
The deceased is believed to be a 23-year-old Nashvillian. His identity will be confirmed through his fingerprints.
The investigation to this point shows that the victim and a 24-year-old friend were at the apartment complex when the car they were in was targeted by gunfire. The 24-year-old, who was wounded, drove to the 1600 block of Antioch Pike where he flagged down citizens coming out of a business and asked for transportation to Southern Hills Medical Center. The victim was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The 24-year-old is in stable condition. Detectives will be speaking with him further as his medical treatment allows.
Anyone with information about the person(s) involved in the gunfire at the apartment complex is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
