Specialized Investigations Division detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the persons involved in the December 9th shooting of a 61-year-old man outside his Fanning Drive residence.
According to witnesses, the drivers of two Dodge Challengers were doing donuts and burnouts in front of the victim’s home when they almost struck a family member. The victim confronted them and said he was going to call the police. The drivers fled the scene but the white Challenger returned. One of the occupants said, “Oh, you’re going to call the police?” at which point the front passenger of the car fired shots at him, striking him in the ankle.
The driver of the white Dodge Challenger is described as a white man with a fade haircut and the shooter is described as a black man. Both appeared to be in their early 20s.
Anyone with information about the occupants of either the white or black Challenger vehicles is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
