Violent Crimes detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the man who Sunday at 11:30 a.m. took a woman’s purse in the parking lot of Walmart, 4424 Lebanon Pike, and injured her while making his getaway.
The victim was loading her groceries into the rear of her vehicle when the suspect grabbed her purse from the woman’s shopping cart. She attempted to get her purse back but the suspect pushed her and got into the driver’s seat of a minivan which had been parked next to the victim’s vehicle. She reported that he quickly reversed, dragging her for a short distance before she fell to the ground.
The suspect is described as a white man, possibly Hispanic. He is approximately six feet tall with a slender build and dark hair. He wore gray sweatpants, a gray sweater, dark colored beanie, and a blue facemask. The minivan is described as a white Dodge Caravan, possibly a 2010 model, with front passenger side damage.
The victim’s purse was recovered with her iPhone in a parking lot off Shute Lane. The wallet was missing.
Anyone who recognizes the man from the attached surveillance photos is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
