A driver has died following Saturday’s 11 a.m. crash on I-65 North near the I-24 West split. The preliminary investigation indicates Roberto Estrada, 54, was driving his Dodge Ram pickup truck northbound on I-65 when it ran off the roadway at a curve and spun before entering the grass median and falling off a 20-foot cliff to the southbound side of I-65.
Estrada was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
His 49-year-old and 2-year-old passengers were also transported to Vanderbilt with non-life threatening injuries.
There were no signs of impairment at the scene.
