Homicide Unit detectives are pursuing active leads as the investigation advances into Sunday night’s fatal shooting of Hwarang Joo, 39, in the parking lot of a shopping complex at 1350 Bell Road.
Joo, the owner of a chicken restaurant in the complex, had just left his business and was seated in his Volkswagen SUV when gunfire erupted shortly before 11 p.m. Joo was hit and the Volkswagen accelerated before crashing into a dental office at 1315 Bell Road causing considerable damage.
Anyone with information on the persons responsible for the gunfire is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward of up to $5,000.
