An 18-year-old Goodlettsville man is out on $20,000 bond this morning after pointing a green laser at an MNPD helicopter last night on Cumberland Station Boulevard. The Aviation Unit was advised by a BNA tower that an airliner pilot had a laser shined at the cockpit.
When an MNPD helicopter responded to the area, a laser was also pointed at pilots.
Destin Wyndham was located by patrol officers who recovered his laser. He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a first responder.
Pointing a laser at aircrafts can significantly impair the vision of pilots. Those responsible will be prosecuted for imposing great danger to public safety.
