Frankie Lee Jones, Jr., 60, who is under indictment for the September murder of his longtime girlfriend, is in custody in Williamson County and will be booked into the Metro Jail soon.
Jones is charged in the homicide of Ethel Geraldine Kennedy, 60, whose body was discovered September 9 in the back seat of burned car on Old Glenrose Avenue at the I-24 overpass. A motorist saw the vehicle fully engulfed in flames just after 5 a.m. that morning. The Nashville Fire Department responded and found Kennedy’s body as they were extinguishing the blaze. Investigation begun by now retired Homicide Unit Detective Derry Baltimore, with follow-up from Detective Tyler Manivong, led to the indictment of Jones.
Jones was stopped in the Fairview area Friday for traffic violations and was found to be wanted in Nashville. He was charged in Williamson County with driving on a suspended license and having improper lighting on his vehicle.
