An apparent drowning victim recovered this afternoon from the Cumberland River near 6002 River Road is tentatively identified as a 59-year-old Georgia woman. There was no evidence of foul play.
The woman was seen yesterday evening walking on property at the University School of Nashville’s River Campus, 1200 County Hospital Road. When staff saw her vehicle still parked at the location this morning, they called police. North Precinct officers arrived to assist Vanderbilt University officers. Additional MNPD components, including aviation and USAR, also responded. The woman’s belongings were found on the riverbank. She had been known to travel out of Georgia and lived in her vehicle.
