Three men are in custody charged with carjacking and aggravated robbery after they allegedly took a Nissan Altima at gunpoint Wednesday night from a man and woman sitting in the car outside their apartment on Hickory Trace Drive.
The victims reported that two men, later identified as Keithan Patterson, 18, and Dillian Smith, 19, banged on the car with handguns and demanded they exit the vehicle. The couple complied and the suspects drove off in the Altima.
Robbery Investigations detectives located the car about 30 minutes later on Foothill Drive and followed it to the 3800 block of Dickerson Pike where they stopped the vehicle. The driver, Javontia Kelly, 22, Patterson and Smith fled on foot but were quickly apprehended. Recovered from the scene and vehicle were two guns, marijuana, digital scales, pills, and multiple cell phones.
Additionally, Patterson and Kelly are each charged with felony drug possession.
Patterson is being held on $117,500 bond. Kelly and Smith are jailed on $100,000 bond each.
Their photos are being withheld pending further investigation.
