A woman is charged with reckless endangerment after she responded this afternoon to an altercation involving her daughter on a school bus carrying McGavock High School students.
Students on the bus got into a fight during which one of them pepper sprayed others. The bus driver pulled over at Lisa Lane and Lebanon Pike. While medics were treating a student for pepper spray exposure, Angela Sweeney, 36, arrived on the scene and attempted to get on the bus but was prevented from doing so by the driver. She was apparently upset that her daughter had been pepper sprayed. Sweeney went to her car and retrieved a handgun. She began to wave it around but did not point it at anyone. She then drove off.
Responding officers stopped Sweeney on Lebanon Pike. She was taken into custody without incident. The handgun was also recovered.
Beyond the pepper spray exposure, no one was injured.
