This is the second of four sessions we will be hosting over the coming months with Smart Growth America. This session will look at the implementation of Complete Streets principles including how specific design changes can achieve streets that are healthy and safe for all road users.
Presented by special guest, Pedro "Peter" Quintanilla. Mr. Quintanilla is the National Director for the Design Hub at Michael Baker International. He has extensive experience working with communities and cities in the US and around the world. He has served on several ULI National TAP groups, and CNU on topics that range from resiliency to urban design. He is leading several national projects that include complete streets, facade improvements, and park designs. Before joining Michael Baker, Mr. Quintanilla was the Director of Design at The Prince’s Foundation for Building Communities in England. Mr. Quintanilla led a team of designers, planners, engineers, and architects on international signature projects, including Rosetown Jamaica, Beijing China, Anji China, and Tangshan China and the reconstruction effort for Port-Au-Prince in Haiti. He was also tasked with setting up and implementing the Princes’ Foundation Galapagos Initiatives, where the Foundation worked with communities in Galapagos Island, Ecuador to write form based codes, sustainable engineering waste solutions, architecture, and master planning practice and road design.
