South Precinct detectives are assisting the Medical Examiner in identifying a man who was found deceased on January 2 in the parking lot of Jackie Murphy’s Used Cars at 87 Lafayette Street. His death has been ruled accidental, the cause was heart disease and hypothermia.
He was a black man who appeared to have been 45-60 years old. He had short black/gray hair, a trimmed black and gray beard and mustache. He weighed 209 pounds and was 6’1” tall. He had scars on his right leg over the knee and shin. The skin on his left knee was hyperpigmented. He was wearing a gray t-shirt, cargo pants and black socks. He had no identification and could not be identified through his fingerprints. Detectives also checked with personnel at the Nashville Rescue Mission who were unable to identify him.
A TBI sketch artist worked with the Medical Examiner’s Office to develop a drawing of the man. Anyone who recognizes him from the sketch or description is asked to call South Precinct investigations at 615-862-7763.
