Outstanding investigation by Violent Crimes Division detectives led to the arrest of two men who on Sunday at 5:15 p.m. allegedly attacked a woman while she was walking her dog at a Bellevue apartment complex, 645 Old Hickory Boulevard.
The suspects approached the victim, one had a fire extinguisher, and sprayed the dog. She was then pushed to the ground. They fled on foot with her bag containing her cell phone and car keys.
Detectives worked to get an accurate suspect description from the victim and witnesses, including two persons who confronted the men and demanded the victim’s belongings. One of the suspects handed over her cell phone to them. More of her possessions were later found in a ditch by a sidewalk. As the detectives continued to search the area, they spotted two men, who matched the suspect description, walking on the other side of the road from an entrance to the apartment complex.
Queshon Demumbreum, 22, and Lamar Maddox, 18, were taken into custody. The victim’s car keys were recovered from a backpack one of them was carrying. During an interview, both admitted their involvement. They are each charged with robbery and being held in lieu of $100,000 bond.
