The Nashville Department of Transportation (NDOT) has developed a Phase 1 action plan to mitigate the ongoing rockslide along River Trace. In order to advance this project, we may require temporary construction easements from property owners whose land borders the segments identified for mitigation, as some work may extend beyond the public right-of-way into private property.
NDOT will finalize this first-phase plan over the next two weeks. Following that, we will schedule community meetings to present the project details, including anticipated timelines. These meetings will also provide an opportunity to address any questions or concerns you may have.
Please note that NDOT continues to monitor the site on a weekly basis, ensuring traffic control measures are in place and checking for any signs of further rockface instability. Following last weekend's weather impacts from Helene, we increased our inspection frequency to ensure roadway safety.
If you experience or observe any concerning conditions, contact Metro’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM) directly. OEM operates 24/7 and can be reached by email at [email protected] or by phone at 615-862-8530. This is the fastest way to notify NDOT of any issues requiring immediate attention.
